Wedding Music Tips for Ceremonies

In general a wedding ceremony has six main parts to choose your song selections for: Prelude, Seating of Family, Processional, Signing, Recessional and Postlude.  For religious ceremonies please be sure to clear your song selections with your officiate. Wedding ceremonies vary according to religion, therefore it is recommened that a detailed program be provided in advance.

As Guests arrive and are being seated, the prelude of music sets the tone and ambiance for your ceremony. It is not necessary to choose specific songs for this portion. However if you have suggestions I can accommodate.

Family Entrance

This song is played during the seating of the Brides Mother and Family.

The music for the processional is played while the Bridal Party and Bride enter and walk down the aisle.

* For a short aisle with a small bridal party: It is recommended to choose one song in order to create fluidity and build towards the Bride's entrance.

* For a long aisle with a larger Bridal Party: It is recommended to choose one song for the Bridal Party and one song for the Bride's entrance.

Timing is key!

There should be aproximatley 10 seconds of music before the Bridal Party begins their entrance. The music will end when the last member of the Bridal Party is positioned at the front. Before the Bride starts her entrance, there will be a couple of seconds of silence, then when the music begins, the Bride is the maestro and her pacing dictates when the music will conclude.

During this part of the ceremony, background music is played while the Bride and Groom sign the register. As this portion only takes a couple of minutes, it is recommended to choose one song.

This song is strong, cheerful and upbeat and is played while the Bride and Groom and Bridal Party depart the ceremony area.

Similar to the Prelude, it is not necessary to provide song selections for this portion. As your Guests exit the ceremony, musical selections in the same style will be performed.
